Thygesminde is located near excellent fishing grounds in both the Limfjord and the Kattegat.
Our location allows you to fish for sea trout all year round, and when in season, you can reel in a wide variety of other wonderful fish such as garfish, herring, mackerel, and numerous flatfish.
We are located on the south side of the Limfjord, but there is quick and easy access to the north side via the regular Egense ferry or through Aalborg.

Thygesminde is a long-established, former courtyard farm, with one tastefully converted wing offering 4 fully furnished rooms for rent.
There are shared bath and toilet facilities and a living room with kitchenette. The rooms have 1 to 4 beds to cater for all needs.
We have plenty of space available for both vehicles and dinghy trailers, and there are several options for mooring dinghies in the local area. We also rent equipment for a wide variety of outdoor activities if you need it.
As certified accommodation for anglers, we offer access to a cleaning area and freezer for your catch, and we can give you up to the minute expert guidance on local fishing options.
The majority of the sea trout that migrate to and from the Limfjord's many streams and inlets come in from the Kattegat. This results in a steady supply of sea trout on the coastline around us – both along the Kattegat coast and in the Limfjord itself.
Sea trout migrate mainly in the spring and autumn, so these are the best times to fish. But on the Kattegat coast, the fishing is good all year round – sea trout, garfish, herring, mackerel, and a variety flatfish are readily available.
The coast in the area is shallow and can often have large beds of eelgrass, so to reach the fish we strongly recommend using waders, or to make sure you are clear of areas where eelgrass and seaweed grow right up to the surface.
The coast is a matter of 10-minutes’ walk from us, and if you’re in a vehicle, you can reach a huge variety of fishing spots in only a few minutes.
